For those who use the 840 for indoor training...

I typically use my Fenix6 when riding my Tacx trainer.  However, the other day I decided to use my 530 on the trainer.  On the Fenix, the data fields scroll with one of them being what the next workout step is, i.e. 10min at XXX-XXX Watts.  The Edge 530 does not appear to show this data field and the only way I can see the next step is to back out to the menu and scroll through to find an item labeled "Next Step".  I'd rather not do that during my workouts and was wondering if the 840 does show the next step time and power requirement during normal scrolling?  I am seriously considering upgrading to the 840 and that's why I'm asking this forum community the question.  TIA.

  • I have an 840 but don't have the data screens auto scrolling. However, if you swipe up from the main workout screen you do see the details of the next step.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks fishyweb.  Is it possible to attach a pic of the main workout screen?  Since an 840 has buttons as well as touchscreen, I assume swiping up is the same as depressing the Up button.  Is that correct?

  • Here's some images of the workout screen and the "next step" swiped up screen. The fields on the former are configurable to a certain extent, but only has options relating to the current step or current measurements. AFAIK the next step cannot be revealed via a button press - the Up button moves to the next data screen "horizontally" if that makes sense.

  • It did answer my question.  Thank you!
