Paid topographic maps, how to understand I am using it?

Hi all,

In my case, I have TOPO Czech v5 PRO. So I used Garmin Express, redeemed the code and clicked the install button. I got the green message "Installation complete". That is easy.
Device rebooted.

How to confirm I am using a new detailed map, instead of a standard one? Where to check what map is used?

I see no visual changes in the device.
In the Garmin Express button "install" is still active

In the manage map menu, I do not see the new map in the list

I found no menu inside the device to check the map name.

Thanks

  • On the 840 device Menu>Activity Profiles>[Select Profile]>Navigation>Map>Map Information will list the Maps Installed and show the Disabled / Enabled Status of each, if you want to change the status then select the Map. So to be clear this is a per profile option, you might have to do it for each profile.

PS It can (at least did previously) cause problems having maps enabled with overlapping coverage.

  • Thanks a lot. Found it.

I faced a problem yesterday when Garmin told me "Turn right in 0 m" while I already turned. It kept showing it until the next turn. Reproduced 4 times and I thought this was a GPS issue. Hmmm...
