Notifications from phone have stopped working

I have made no changed to how my Edge 840 is set up, but all notifications have stopped working.

I've removed the device from connect on my phone, and added it back, but they still do not work. All permissions are set and I have enabled 'All apps'

It's one thing after another with this device.. Buy Garmin, they said.. I wish I'd hadn't now.

All manufacturers' devices struggle with Android - there are so many different versions which are often undocumented. My old Huawei used to aggressively turn off Bluetooth to make the battery life marketing sound better but they didn't bother providing a way to restore default behaviour.

Have you checked that you have enabled the app you want messages from in Garmin Connect as well as in Android? Note that these are two separate settings. Also check that the app and Connect can run unrestricted in the background.
