Edge 840 doesn't registers Shimano d-fly extra buttons presses every time.

d-fly buttons (on top of ultegra/dura-ace shifters) sometimes work ok - they change screen (left/right) or start new lap (double press) etc.

BUT quite often, I have to press buttons many time, it looks like my Edge 840 "registers" only 1/5 of my presses !!!

also I don't see any connections drops (no messages about connecting again etc.)

My D-fly in next to a stem, just 2cm from Edge.

(I've tested my bike with Edge 530 and everything works correctly, during 2h ride I didn't have such problems with buttons even once !)

I think it has to be software. If it is hardware, they should change it because of guarantee

Something changed, last week I had 2 rides where I think all my presses worked correctly, and I think nothing else changed?

2 days ago there was a new version released (and installed), but those 2 rides were before that.

Same on my side. It seems to work properly now. Garmin replaced my Edge but a brand new had the same issue. Now it seems to magically get fixed.

I reached out to support on 5/8 for this same issue. I am running v20.19. They took my 840 Solar serial number and said they would add it to the case that Engineering has open.

Yes, It also happened to me. I think that we received a firmware update for the gps module and after this update it looks like now it is working fine

My Di2 buttons started working with my Garmin 840 after not working for a year. Garmin must have fixed the issue with a software update. I’m running Software Version 21.18

Now that it’s working, the Garmin is way more useful! The time lag between gear changes and the gear display has vastly improved , too.
