Starting dropping my ANT+ power meter last week.

Last week, my 840 started dropping and connecting my ANT+ power meter about every 15 seconds.  It had been working since I got the 840 in April this year, including with ver 18.25.   Prior, it had worked reliably with my 820 for 4 years.  I tried removing it and adding it a number of times and it made no difference.  I reinstalled the firmware in the PM, removed and added it to the 840, and still no difference.  It does work if I connect it via BT rather than ANT+, so that is a workaround.  Still, I wonder what going on with ANT+.  PM is a Zwatt Yding.

  • Hi Mike, thanks for your input. Well, I also tried the beta version, but problem still exists (exactly the same, no difference), speed/cadence dropping and connecting every 5 seconds. Now my Garmin HR sensor also dropping!! I think this is a disaster, I don't buy these things for all the nice gadget functions, I buy them to track the essentials, which require inout sensors such as speed/cadence and HR. If that cannot be provided for, then I need to switch to another platform, pff

  • Not already paired. Jumping in again to say that over the past couple months I'm continued to try as fw updates come out. Today I rechecked everything. Made sure ANT+ was on in P2M settings. Latest fw. 840 doesn't see it. Check show bluetooth sensors, it picks up and stays connected. Then checked ant+ connection on my Fenix 6x (removed sensor, re-added it, no problem) and it works perfectly over ANT+. Very frustrating.

  • I eventually got a replacement device from Garmin. Seems to have "fixed" the issue, but, it was a lot of emails with their tech team saying how I was doing everything correctly but eventually ANT+ would stop.

  • Thanks Mike, my device still not working properly, despite installing the latest update which indicates that certain "connectivity issues" have been resolved, just not mine .......

  • Quick update. I have my P2M issue solved (for now). With the assistance of P2M support, I did the following.

    1. Factory reset the PM through the P2M app
    2. Reconnect to the app and disable Bluetooth cycle power data
    3. Disconnect PM from app
    4. Remove PM from Edge
    5. Reboot Edge
    6. Add PM to Edge.

After these steps, the Edge found the sensor.
