Rides not automatically uploading to Pixel 7 Pro

I’m using an 840 with a Pixel 7 pro. When I complete a ride, it’s not automatically uploaded to Garmin connect on the phone. I need to do a hard reset on my phone in order to get the app to sync. Garmin was unable to diagnose the problem, and even sent me a replacement 840, which has the same problem. I was previously using a 530 on the same phone with no issues. Anyone else have a similar experience and/or can suggest a fix? Thanks

  • Yes, i am struggling with it sometimes (Xiaomi MI8), something is not good with the data transfer neither via BT and neither via Wifi (if i use my Edge with Sleep mode, the wifi sync is not working automatically after the turning on, only if the unit is switched on after a completely turned off state... )  And sometimes when i want to turn off the unit, it is freezing (frozen last display picture or the frozen power off symbol on the display, these 2 happens regularly... ) and i have to reset the unit with the 20-30s long press power button method

  • The phone model is a red herring - this seems to be a common issue with the Edge 840 and any Android phone - it won't sync until you either restart or you're back home connected via WiFi.

  • Thanks.  Good to know (though not good for Android users). Hopefully Garmin is listening and will come up with a fix.
