Garmin training schedule

Just two weeks ago I purchased a Garmin Edge 840 bundle pack and I am very pleased with it. I started with a training schedule generated from the Garmin Connect app and synced to my Garmin Edge 840. The problem arises that during the workout, I cannot see the workout and therefore do not know what effort is required of me. Are there more people here with the same problem? And how do I solve this?

Also, I have not yet figured out how the Power Guide works. It does not show any data. I do not own a power sensor, I only own: heart rate monitor, speedometer and cadence meter.

  • Power guide needs a power meter on the bike you're riding against the course as it's all based on telling you what power output to ride at.

    • create or choose course
    • create power guide
    • sync to your garmin
    • when riding the course it will load the power guide and show a new screen. This screen tells you what power you should be doing currently to try and match the power guide.

    I used it on a 200KM ride a couple of weeks ago and it was a good reminder to go nice and easy at the start when fresh.
