Getting rid of the ‘little red mountains’ on map display

I can not seem to get rid of the ‘little red mountains’ that signal start of a climb. Although ClimPro is nice, when navigating in the mountains without a course active I would prefer to have all the map real estate available.

Switching off ClimPro does not do the trick. I found a ClimbPro setting where you can select the type of climbs displayed but alas you can not choose to display none?

Seems strange to me but perhaps I am missing something? Deleting the ClimbPro maps may do the trick but would prefer to have them available for when I want to use the feature.

  • You should be able to do that from the map page. Swipe up from the bottom of the map page to gain access to the page Tray. There you should find a display filter options for ClimbPro. Switching off ClimbPro there is just switching off the display on the map page. ClimbPro will still work, but not show the red mountains on the map.

  • Thank you! Did not realise there are more than three choices in that menu. Still getting used to the new interface after my E830. Cheers!

  • Also long term thanks, I “discovered” same in relation to course points, I like course points but not so much the map symbols which often obscure the junctions, turning off with the map tray removes them from the map but leaves all other course point displays still working, perfect. Many of these types of features are not well (or at all) covered in help / manuals, I have learned a lot via your insights here especially re “undocumented” features. I had previously ignored the course point switch in the tray as I assumed it was another “turn off course points” switch rather than just don’t display them on the map
