ClimbPro freeride not working in Taiwan

The Climb Explore widget always shows "no nearby climbs" even though I've set the search radius to 100km, allowed all difficulties, and updated my map. I know for sure there are dozens of long climbs in my area. I'm also not seeing any climb indicators when panning around on the map.

Is ClimbPro freeride not available in Taiwan?

Do you have a file in the

Garmin\SQL\Internal folder on the Edge

If so what is it called.

For Taiwan I think it should be something like DA117000A.db

No I don't have it. Where can I download this? I don't see any other maps for Taiwan/Asia Pacific in Garmin Express and there are no APAC maps available for purchase on Garmin's cycle map store.

Wow thank you, based on my research it looks like I need "Taiwan Cycle Map" which includes "Garmin ClimbPro Taiwan 2022.30". Hopefully they can make it available otherwise I'm going to have to return this for a Karoo.

That is what I'm thinking as well. Maybe those maps are only accessible to APAC units. Hopefully someone at Garmin can help you out.

I just contacted Taiwan Support and they said Garmin Maps in Asia Pacific are only available for devices purchased in the specific country. So even if I bought one in Taiwan, I wouldn't be able to use ClimbPro in other parts of APAC. This is pretty upsetting as it's not mentioned anywhere by Garmin that I can't use ClimbPro in Asia.

From what aweatherall describes on other new climbpro questions it might still work on a free ride but not when searching. Other APAC users say it works for them but there might be a difference between maps / files on different devices, https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-1040-series/333108/cycling-maps-for-philippines , give it a go anyway.

Garmin Taiwan Support got back to me again. They said ClimbPro data will be available for all countries some time in July, including countries where only OSM maps are available.

Can anyone else from Garmin confirm this? I want to make sure because if they're wrong, I won't be able to refund my unit in July.

Mine doesn't seem to work in Taiwan.
