bug : workout page layout

Hello Garmin,

there is a bug constructing the workout page for indoor activity profile even the GPS mode is off.

Menu -> activity profiles -> data screens -> workout : no possibility to change number of data fields or remove them at all.

Addtiionally there is no possibility to remove 'step distance' [m]  data field or change/replace by stamina.  The step distance during indoor training is useless.

That's a bug, I think.
Regards,

  • Former Member What you are describing is functioning as designed. The number of data fields at the bottom cannot be altered, but can be edited to other data fields if you choose. Any changes to design would be best submitted through the ideas portal I mentioned in your other thread.

  • What MichalWos says is correct.  From Activity Profile, Data Screens, Workout, although it says Layout and Data Fields, it says 0 fields, and even if you select on that, and it takes you to the "Edit" screen, you cannot change anything with regard to the layout, either on the 840 or in the Garmin Connect App.  Nor can you change what is in those data fields.  They're just blank. Giving us a step count, with no data in the bottom two fields, makes no sense for a bicycle workout.

I would greatly appreciate for any information that would help me understand what the design intent was in this case. Placing a field that cannot be replaced / changed and offer only one number during whole training session '0' not add anything to the training and takes up space that could be used much better.

Here one example. Red rectangular on the left represent distanece during indoor session and this field  can't be change. On the the right suggested configuration which give us flexibilty and will be much more usefull than useless 'distance'

  • Yeah those fields are not editable as MichalWos says. Even if we can't change the number or layout we should be able to edit the data in those fields. help!

  • how did you changed the 4 data fields???????

  • I think they are just showing what they WANT to happen. not what is currently possible...
