Data Recording

My Edge 840 Solar with Version 9.09 software does not have a Data Recording interval option in the menu. The page where this would be displayed only lists Cadence Averaging, Power Averaging and Log HRV options.

Can anyone confirm whether they have this option? I was wondering if Garmin just decided this should default to one-second recording since these devices have plenty of memory.

According to the manual, it does record every second:

Data Recording
The device records points every second. It records key points where you change direction, speed, or heart rate. Recording points every second provides an extremely detailed track and uses more of the available memory.

imho the 1s recording should have been default and only-one possibility since 7years apprx (since the release date of 820). the "smart" rec was designed for the very old Edge models which are recording in TCX file in huge size but these have tiny storage space but pointless since ~2014 (Edge1000) for sure.
