Edge 840 Solar shows jumps on flat road

I’ve only used the Edge 840 Solar twice so far. The first time was at a trail centre, so I never noticed this issue.

Today I’ve ridentified on the roads to the trails… and on flat roads the 840 keeps popping up ‘Great Jump’ and giving me stats. I’m on a smooth road and my wheels haven’t left the road! It does it about every 15 seconds whilst travelling at speeds of over about 16/17mph - but I wasn’t able to determine exactly what the criteria was.

When riding round the trails, it never did it - unless I did actually jump.

Anyone else noticed this?

My "jumps" on pump track. Actually was 0 jumps made. Softw. 9.29

I'm still getting this continually. On Sunday I was sitting with my bike on the ground having a snack, and it kept beeping and popping up Great Jump. It got so annoying, I went over and turned it off!

I'm using the EMTB profile if that makes any difference, and am on the latest BETA software release (don't have the device to hand to get the revision).

Are you using an Out Front Mount. I read somewhere that jump detection is designed for a unit mounted only on the stem.

It stopped reporting jumps on flat road for me, I don't think it has anything with mounting - before I had 1030 on same mount - no problem.
maybe some issue with accelerometer it needs some rides

Mine is stem mounted, and the same mount as my 830 was on too. No issues with it over the 3 years I had it.

The 840 is doing jumps whilst resting against a tree!!

I’ve turned off the Flow / Grit / Jumps etc in the meantime… as it beeping every few seconds telling me I’ve done a ‘great jump’ was becoming very grating!!

Mine stopped for some rides but today it's reporting fake jumps again, always speed is close to 25km/h
