Beep Sounds on edge 840 too Quiet

Hello, how do you find the volume of the "acoustic beeps" during navigation? I find them almost too quiet, they could definitely be louder. It's easy to overhear when you're mountain biking or riding fast/windy in general. And yes, my ears work very well...;-) Of course, it would be ideal if you could control the volume.
Does anyone have a comparison to the edge 1040 or the edge 830? I would be interested to know whether the sounds on edge 840 are quieter, just as loud, or even louder than in the comparison devices.

    I am testing a small piece of Gorilla Tape covering the holes and it is still piercing embarrassing loud. My concern is whether or not this might also affect barometric altitude?

    I'll have to figure something out. I rely on live segments extensively and the 840 is very chatty. I dont want to turn off all audio alerts, but I might have to. I wish alerts had more granular controls available, including the ability to change volume for those of you that want it louder! :)

    …..as if the sound were being reflected, that's interesting, I'll experiment with that and report back

    If you cover the sound holes like the original aero mount, the sounds are louder as when they are open, as described by looigi. I tried it out today on a ride and I found hardly any difference, at most a nouance.
