I use Live track every ride. Recently about 20 miles into the ride I checked by looking for my track on the E mail sent to recipients at start. ( I always send one to myself.) It shew me as In a location in USA, I am in the UK. I stopped the track, started again and it shew my current location. Since this situation I always check to see my start location, before riding. Intermittently I am put at this location in USA. ( OLATHE ) I stop the track, immediately start again and I got my home location correct.
Having time on my hands yesterday, I rang Garmin re the problem. The call handler was excellent, and informed me that the strange USA start location was actually " Garmin HQ " in the USA.
He E/M me asking for loads of data files. So as to not get it wrong, I called and asked for assistance to navigate to all the screens needing to be sent. This call handler got me to D/L Garmin express, in order to transmit files to them. This I did, and after them stating all info was received for investigation, Express informed me of an Update available. ( mostly MAPS ).
I waited , took over 1 hr. and then did the Sync, and now all showing up to date. Garmin have all my data and are working on it. However, now when I try to start a Live track via Garmin connect, ( my usual way ) when checking my start location on my E/M it is only the USA location, no matter how many times I try to start it.
Performing a start Live Track on the 830, shows live track started, and then immediately live track ended, which is possibly why the USA default location.
Garmin are investigating, but I wonder if any one has thoughts as to what has happened after the Down load via Garmin Express?
