topoactive maps to large for edge 830,

file is 13.04 GB but capacity of edge 830 is 14.4GB and I only have 2 GB of free space. Do I need this update and if it does not fit on my edge why is Garmin looking to update it?

Maybe we need mor info, like NA or EU version, what maps are on your device? etc.

Current map set fit on mine.

NA and I just reset my edge 830 to factory setting so the current maps would be the default I think?

Current maps are

TopoActive NA Canada/Alaska 2025.10
TopoActive NA Middle America 2025.10
TopoActive NA US 2025.10
Trailforks 2019.10 (I normally delete this)

Garmin replaced the original Cycle Maps recently with TopoActive

So should I delete the map files in there now? It seems like if I used the new maps I would have very little storage left?

It seems like Garmin is trying to install NA, is there a way to get Garmin Express to do just Canada/Alaska?

Also on a separate note Strava segments seemed to have stop a month ago while I am navigating a route. Does the mapping have something to do with that?

Just let Express update the maps and stop trying to 2nd guess the process.

I would if I could, but I get an error message every time hence my post about the size requirements. I have 2gb free but the file is 13.04gb?

You never said you tried to update and got an error message.

Call support, maybe they can get the information from you to help.
