Intensity minutes

I'm very disappointed!

Why, for the past few months (end of 2024?), have intensive minutes no longer been counted during cycling activities with my EDGE 830?! (Many of us are in this situation...)

That's the principle of physio true up!
So, the training load is fine, the recovery time too, but the intensive minutes, nothing!

So, on Garmin Connect, this distorts the health tracking results and statistics; those who follow a training program must also be very, very disappointed with GARMIN!!?

Don't tell me to reset my EDGE 830; it's already been done. Don't tell me that the EDGE 830 doesn't handle intensive minutes, because it did so perfectly last year and the years before that...

Let's be clear: is this planned obsolescence or is it a marketing ploy to force people to buy the latest devices? Isn't it?

  • There is a post from Garmin three years ago that states:

the Edge 830 does not have the capability to calculate intensity minutes. Feel free to review the requirements and compatible devices that offer this feature here: How Does the Intensity Minutes Feature Work?

I guess a firmware update eliminated the Intensity minutes on the 830.

  • Werw you previously wearing a compatible watch which you are no longer wearing? I always got intensity minutes while cycling with my Edge 830 but always wore a Fenix watch simultaneously in passive mode.
