Indoor Trainer Rides not being counted in Intensity Minutes

I'm about to leave the Garmin ecosystem over this.

I track my weekly activity output by Intensity minutes - I don't care about steps or calories or anything else - I want to know how many minutes I am spending in various Heart Rate Zones.  Fitbit did a fabulous job with this with their "Zone Minutes" metric (but Fitbit doesn't care about athletes).

Garmin's Intensity Minutes was working fine for me until about 3 weeks ago.  Since I've been forced indoors by the weather, my Intensity Minutes isn't counting my bike trainer rides which are being tracked with an Edge 830 with a heart rate chest strap.

If there isn't a fix for this I'm going to try and go to some other platform.

The Edge 830 does not support the Intensity Minutes feature and is not expected to generate Intensity Minutes credit.

If you are or were seeing some Intensity Minutes data in Garmin Connect, it is being generated by a different device (such as a compatible Garmin watch measuring HR data). I suspect something else, not the Edge 830, was changed when you began riding indoors.

For reference, please review: How Are Intensity Minutes Earned?
If you own a device compatible with intensity minutes, you will get the most accurate intensity minutes by recording activities with that device.
If you have a Garmin HRM-Pro or HRM-Pro Plus, which is also paired to the Garmin Connect app on your phone, you will get intensity minutes for activities which would otherwise not earn intensity minutes.
