Edge 830 sudden battery depletion.

i have an Edge 830 which is around a year old, I didn’t use it for 5 weeks and since then the battery drains after a 6hr ride, which it didn’t do before, previously I would end a ride with 60% left. Is this a common issue?

Hard to tell how old it really is since the device was introduced in 2019 and is now not even sold on Garmin's web site. All third party sellers now.

Mine was new to me in May this year, still in the Garmin box and packaging, but who knows how it was stored in the warehouse. Mine will last for about a 12-15 hour ride (with maybe a 1 hour pause/sleep mode in the middle of the ride) with GPS, no navigation prompts, and I have the display set to 70% without backlight on.
