Average power discrepancy between Garmin Connect and Strava

Ever since swapping to the Magene Powermeter, I'm experiencing the issue that the avg. power between Strava and Garmin Edge 830/Connect is quite different from the values shown in Strava.

aweatherall I saw in other threads that you've quite a lot of knowledge about this topic. I had a look at the fit files. It seems that the accumulated power(watts) that are saved in the fit file are causing this issue. As they are higher than what I have calculated for the accumulation.

Is there any solution for this issue?

This power meter is unusually.

Most power meters do actually transmit power data. They use the Crank Torque message and transmit torque and cadence, The Head units then computes power from this data.

Do you have a friend with Edge x40 or x50 unit that you could do a test ride with.

Not that I am aware off, I've asked around the RRN forum with what devices they're recording their data as no one there has the same issue.

One user overthere uses the Edge 840 and doesn't have any problems.. neither do the users of the wahoo

I switched to BT, now Strava and Connect watts avg match, still some minor things seem a bit of always when I'm not pedalling the first 2-4s still have a cadence (exactly the value the last entry with power>0 has). I can share the file with you later
