I have the Garmin 830 paired with a Quarq dZero crank power meter. When I transition from pedaling to coasting, I have noticed that my Garmin takes several seconds to show 0 power. For example, If I approach a corner at 300 watts and then stop pedaling to take the turn, my Garmin will record ever-decreasing power values for the duration of the turn, meaning that it records 5+ seconds of sub-100-watt values. I know the power meter is recording correctly because when I am on zwift, zwift will display the power correctly. I have tried changing the data recording from 1 second to smart, but there is no difference. This is a big problem for tracking shorter intervals because coasting for a few seconds for a corner can change the reported average power by 10-20 watts, making it impossible to pace a workout properly.
Can I improve the data recording speed or get my Garmin to show 0 when I stop pedaling?
