Pairing on Samsung s24 fails

Hi all

After I had to upgrade my company phone I went from a Samsung S20 to a Samsung S24.

Pairing my Garmin Venu 3 worked fine

Pairing my EDGE 830 fails, however.

I realized that the pairing process starts with the (BT) Edge 830 profile and a PIN is generated, progress bar is moving to ~25%

when it asks to pair the 2nd profile (BLE) Edge 830 the pairing process stops and gives me an error message after several time.

At that time I can see both bluetooth profiles in the phones BT menu.

Neither renaming of the Edge 830 nor resetting / restarting either device and deleting the BT profiles helped so far, so I guess there´s a incompatibility in the BLE implementation on one of the devices.

Any recommendation or advice here?

  • Rest reassured there is no incompatibility.

    I have replaced my old S20 with S24 and had no problems pairing edge830 with it. I didn't fiddle with BT/BLE profiles, though. Just let Connect app do its job. However, I had removed connection between Edge830 and my old S20 before starting with S24.

    already did a complete reset on the Edge 830 and removed all profiles from the phone - still no success

    and stopping the pairing process of Garmin Connect when switching pairing process from BT to BLE connection

  • Works fine on my S24+  I have both a Venu 3S and and Edge 830 paired.  I do not remember any problems when paring (the 830 was paired months ago)
