my power zone 7 with 0 minutes

Good morning,
On Garmin Connect in my time report concerning the power zones, for all my sessions I always have 0 minutes in zone 7 (neuromuscular) with which I often exceed the maximum value of zone 6. Before with my old meter ( EDGE 810) I had time in zone 7.
Does anyone have an explanation?

  • Check that the zone is correctly defined on the Edge.

If you post an activity file in FIT format I can check the value.

  • Hello,

    Thanks for answer.

The zone are correctly definied on the Edge and my Garmin Connect.

I found this topic. I will check this afternoon if I can help me.

  • I have the very same issue with my Edge 530. Although I spent some little time in power zone 7, garmin connect (web or mobile app) shows time 0:00 spent in this zone. The very same activity in Strava shows for instance time 3:30 in the power zone 7.

I have asked this via Garmin support chat and they did not help much - they told me Strava and Garmin use different algorithms for the recorded data processing and therefore there can be differences there. I am not very satisfied with this answer.

It is not crucial for me to have these zones shown properly but I would like having it in working state or at least knowing why there is 0:00 reported in the graph. I was thinking whether it is really garmin's algorithm and maybe I would need to spend in the power zone 7 much more than 2-3 minutes. I did not focus on the power zone 7 in my rides, I commonly have just some peaks there during 1.5-2 hour ride and maybe Garmin filters those and evaluates I rode 0 minutes in the zone 7.
