Keeps switching off mid ride. Loose your training data. Not that it matters as all Garmin algorithms. But training load is gone. Also looses GPS mid ride. Especially if you pause. Lost half ride yesterday. Also maps is non existent. No content or depth. Also when following course. Just a line on screen. Has been like that. As per usual support. Wipe and restore. But as Big as Garmin is there is no cloud to back up? Loose all content. Also does not go into connect to pc mode. Just charges

You haven't got maps of the area you are in or they are not active. Where are you and where was the unit bought? x30 units only come with maps from where they are initially distributed to. If you want other maps yo have to use third party ones or make them yourself.

That is not normal. First make sure you aren't using a charging only cable. If the cable is fine and it still doesn't work try forcing into mass storage mode: Turn off unit. Hold down lap/reset button and plug into a computer with a USB cable (one that can transfer data).

You can back up the settings: https://support.garmin.com/en-MY/?faq=eWswdSH4aC3xrXxmQj7U9A if it can successfully connect to a computer.

I would try and get the unit talking to a computer and then using Garmin Express make sure everything is up to date.
