Edge 830 turning off and on mid ride?

Just purchased a Garmin Edge 830 as an upgrade from my 810 which I have had for years. The last 2 rides at about the 100 km distance shuts off and asks if I want to save the ride. This is ridiculous as I have to save and start a new ride. Has anyone figured this out yet ? thx

I have the same problem so would be keen to know if there is a solution. I’ve had my edge for about 9 months, but it’s on the latest firmware. I’ve had other strange issues a while back, but assumed it was fixed. I have to say that I’m beginning to think I’ll go back to using my phone for navigation and watch to record the route.
