Edge 830 won't record rides

Hi all,

When I start a ride, my 830 shows that speed I am doing, however it doesn't start recording. Every 30 or so seconds I get a single beep and on the screen (it doesn't matter which screen I have on) I get a sign flash up every few seconds which is a single vertical line (like the pause sign) and then the start arrow.

Anyone had this before? I have updated the Garmin, so I know it isn't that.

The timer start mode has been set to prompted, so its prompting for the start button to be pressed. It can be changed in the activity profile that was being used.

You need to press the "Start" button or set the Edge to "Auto Start" as Peter_55 mentioned. When you're done your ride you press the same button to end it.
