Wrist mounted pulsometer with ant+ for Edge 830

Any recommendations? I want a wrist mounted pulsometer that my 830 can see in 'add sensor', and display and record the data on a ride.

I've had good search around, there is a lot of conflicting and incomplete advice out there.

  • Most, if not all, Garmin watches have the capability of broadcasting heart rate data to the Edge via ANT+. I use a Venu 2 for that purpose.

Check the user guides for the steps to invoke it as it may vary from between models.

  • Any heart rate measuring device that can broadcast the HR via ANT+ or BT will work.

  • That's great thanks very much, just what I needed to have confirmed!

  • Keep in mind that any wrist heart rate monitor is much less accurate at high exertion levels than a proper chest strap HRM.  I have a Garmin Instinct watch and it doesn't come close to tracking my high level activities compared to the chest HRM.  The watch will show as much as 20% low during hard efforts.  Bad data is worse than no data, in my opinion.

I actually go in the "other direction" with this.  During rides I have the chest HRM broadcast to both my Edge and the watch to get a more accurate analysis of my day from the watch.
