Can't search anything on navigation of Edge 830

I have an Edge 830 and really like the device but I cannot get the navigation to work properly. When I navigate to Navigation -> Search -> Cities for example, I just get an "No search results, change search criteria" error regardless of what I try to search:

How can I make it work then? I just wanted to be able to select a city on the device and to have it navigate me to it so that I can just mount it on my bike and ride there. When I checked in the settings, two maps are visible there and both are turned on - one called Standard and one called Trailforks. What am I doing wrong and how do I make it work?

    The standard worldwide basemap isn’t routable. A routable map of your region needs to be enabled for any navigation usage. If it’s missing or corrupted you should be able to reinstall it using Garmin Express, otherwise download a map from an OSM map source such as https://extract.bbbike.org/ (select a the latin 1 version, UTF8 won’t work)
