Edge 830 turning itself off with 50% battery left

why did I not think about that ! I have all the stuff, I used it when I go out  for a  over 200 km trip (summer :) )
But to late I order Grrrrrrrrrrr stupid me !

I wouldn't stress over it.  It's probably not life changing money for you, and you will be starting with a fresh refurbished unit which should be as good as a new one.  And now you'll delay buying the next "latest and greatest" model until more bugs are worked out.  Life's hard, always good to look on the bright side!

What probably will be true, the new 840(?) will need, like usual, some updates before it work's correctly 
but, but, but ...

I hear ya!  I specifically bought the 530 because I didn't want a finicky touchscreen for mtb, but I'm getting tired of buttons.  So now I'm a year in with the 530 but kind of wanting an 830/40 for a touchscreen.  Looks so much easier to get through the menus and navigate the map.  That said, I do really like my 530 and I try to keep it more about riding than playing with a piece of tech.  And then there's the 1040, easier to see, but is it too big for mtb...?!  Sigh... 

The oldest 830 units will be 4 years old in May 2023.
