Problem with reduced map size on 'Layout and Data Fields' screen

Hi. Setting up the the Layout and Data fields on the Map screen, a rectangular box with diagonal segments appears above the data fields, reducing the size of the map. For some reason I can't get rid of this. I'd welcome your advice. Many thanks.

That is the elevation profile when navigating. There should be an option to switch that off. It may still show in the layout, but not when in use.

Profile -> Data Screens -> Map -> Show elevation profile (switch this to off)

Many thanks, AW. I was confused because the (very good) Youtube video on data field set up did not show the elevation profile.
