Edge 830 lower right button is dead intermittently

I have my Edge 830 now for almost 2,5 years, but one month ago a problem started to appear. Starting and stopping the recording of a ride with the lower right button doesn't work anymore. When I press the button (tried it several times), only after a couple of seconds two short beeps can be heard, but nothing happens (no start or stop of the recording of an activity). I powered off my device and powered it on. Now the device displays a menu I have never seen before. In this menu you can select several tests, like memory tests, a touch screen test and also a key press test. When performing the key press test, it becomes clear that pressing the lower right button is not detected by the test.

A reset of the device (holding the power button 10 seconds) doesn't help. The device only starts up in the tests menu. So I powered off the device and left it for a day. The next day I powered it on and it starts up normally, also the lower right button responds (with one beep when I press it) and starts (and stops) recording of a ride. I switched the device on and off several times, and the button functions normally.

One day later I switch on the device, press the lower right button to record a ride (activity), but no response at all (also no beep when pressing the lower right button). After switching off and on the device, it only starts up in the test menu. In the store where I bought the device, they told me that when you press the lower right button together with the power on button, the device starts up in the test menu. So it looks like my device detects that the lower right button is pressed, but somehow the device gets locked in an incorrect state (I'm guessing now).

The software version on my device is 9.50. Did anyone had the same experience with the Garmin Edge 830 before?
