Distanz to destination not shown as data field

I've read through several threads here, none of which provided an answer for my specific problem, which is that I simply cannot find / select a data field "distance to destination". When setting up a new data field and then choosing the category "distance" I only ever have the following options to choose from (translating from German, so maybe not 100% correct):

distance

lap distance

last lap - distance

lead

odometer

That's it. The manual lists several more options, but they are nowhere to be found on my device ...
