Screen delaminating

I've had my Garmin 830 for less than 2 years, and it is beyond the warranty. I noticed that the screen started to delaminate after I rode with it in some light rain several months ago. It continued to work properly and the delamination was only on the left side and top of the screen, and was not getting any worse. Yesterday, after crossing 2 cattle guards it shut off. I stopped and tried to get it to work. Nothing I did seemed to work. I was convinced that it was dead. After riding a few more miles, and continuing to try and start it, I noticed that the screen was totally delaminated and open on the left side. I could look into the computer. I'm very disappointed after paying so much for this computer, and it breaking so easily...

  • This should not happen; also not after two years! I propose you contact your local Garmin representative to discuss. My experience that a phone call with a real person is often more effective than e-mail contact or alike.

Success and please inform us on the proceedings.

  • Your local support team will be able to gather further information from you and offer troubleshooting. If a replacement is necessary, they will be able to assist with this as we cannot offer that through the forums. Click link
