Wonky directions when using address navigation or back to start direct route

When using back to start or even navigate to a specific address, I get a direct route on the map then when I hit "ride", it creates a route that takes me all over the place instead of the most direct forward route available. It would be great if the software let you pick a route after it calculates options like you can with google maps Instead. I am attaching screenshots to show you what I mean

You might try turning off popularity routing and see how that works. I don't use it. I believe Popularity Routing tends to put you where the most riders happen to ride nearby along the way, and not necessarily going between your start and destination.

Routes generated on the device like this are often not the greatest. It isn't surprising the route it gives is not the one you would prefer. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Agreed, Garmin could do better in their mapping algorithm. Wish it was more google map-like where you could tap on route option.
