Edge 830. Can I just have a map following me around? Like no route programmed or anything. Just a moving map with me in the middle.

Yes, that is the default on the map page when not navigating.

Perhaps I hit something in setup I shouldn’t have because my icon just leaves the map that is on the display.

That is very strange. The rider position should be stationary and the map should move around it.

Not sure. It’s brand new and said it has updated

Did you hit the (screen) button between the + (zoom in) and - (zoom out) sign, which allows you to move the map?

Maybe. I’m not sure. Aside from all of the other functions this thing does all I really want is for the map to follow me and tell me the names of the streets or trails I am coming up on. If I am in a bike trail network my phone with Trailforks open will show me exactly where I am and what trails are coming up as I get close to them. Can I have the Edge 830 do this?

As mentioned above I think you may have put the map page into pan mode.
