Assessing my training incorrectly

Is my Garmin edge 830 assessing my training incorrectly when Garmin has assessed the training as tempo, I think it should have been anaerobic ???
The Majority of "heavy" load is in Zone6

  • Check your HR and power zones are set correctly.  If they are wrong you will see things like this.  If you haven't manually edited the zones then they will most likely be incorrect.

  • Thanks
Is Training Effect based on pulse or power?
My max pulse was set 5 bpm too high, probably after last unit reset. My FTP is base on a 20m test W*0,95 and because of off-season i have subtracted 10w, so the FTP should not be too high.

  • HR and power if you have it.

You don't just need things like having your FTP correct, you need the zones correct as well.  Check that the zone boundaries are correct.  The default Garmin ones may well not be.  Use a HR and power zone calculator you trust to give good values for you and enter those into your device.  I find that the British Cycling power & HR zone calculators give good results for myself and I use them on my Edge unit.
