FW 9.50

After months of no (beta) updates, many unsolved issues in this forum, we received FW 9.50. And what did we get? “Fixed BLE sensor connection issue with CIQ data fields”.

    I agree. I was expecting that issues related to navigation will be fixed in 9.50 update...

    We have to face facts, if the incompetent software engineers haven't fixed the major issues by now, they're not going to.

    We've bought a lemon.

    Curious as to what Navigation issues you are referring to?  I live in the US and although I just may be unaware I have not seen any major nav problems.

    I don't think "lemon" is an appropriate description, nor are the software engineers necessarily incompetent. It's management that is responsible for directing their priorities, and clearly fixing these bugs isn't their priority.

    After all, the route recalculation doesn't work from the beginning.

    My 830 has been on 8.20 since I bought it, and I've not experienced any problems or wasted any time.

    Thought today when it prompted me for the thousandth time, maybe I should let it do the update to 9.50.

    After finding this thread and many others about issues with this/previous versions, now I think - if it isn't broken, don't fix it.

    1. Few times happened that E830 told me to turn back while I was riding exactly on the course line. When generally I know area it is easy to ignore it but in totally new terrain it can be frustrating and misleading.

    2. Few times course vanished from screen for some time but after 1km or so it came back. What's interesting when I swiped to screen with data, in important turns navigation popped up for a while displaying course line without any problem.

    3. Recently it happened few times that when I chose not to navigate to start point at the beginning of ride, "calculating" info showed up at the top of the screen with percentage. This process was really slow, it took around 10 minutes to calculate hard for me to say what because after 40 sec I was at line of course.

    4. Navigating to course after leaving it could be as it should instead applying it in correct way in newest devices and leaving older with cumbersome solution.
