Synchronization doesn't upload all rides in one go since 9.40

Since v9.40 firmware it seems like I have to prompt my Garmin to synchronize multiple times to upload all rides if there are a few on the unit which need to upload.

Anyone else seeing the same issue?

(My wife seems to have the same problem with her 530)

  • Is this connecting / syncing via Wi-Fi?

For me, since FW 8 the syncing via Wi-Fi only uploads one ride at a time despite it saying "X rides uploaded"

If I have 5 rides it will say "5 rides uploaded" but only one gets to GC, if I activate the "sync now" it will say "4 rides uploaded" (but only one gets to GC then "3 rides...", "2 rides...". "1 ride..."

Sometimes if I leave the Wi-Fi connection enabled it will restart the syncing multiple times itself and go through the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 rides uploaded but actually only doing one each time

Nthing wrong with the rides as if I do the syncing via BT.GC Mobile then all 5 are uploaded at first go.

For various reasons (dropous mainly) I have gone back to 7.10 and the Wi-Fi syncing works as I expect (ie works)

  •  Can you walk me through your process of syncing your Edge when you are finished with your rides?

If you are using the Garmin Connect app on your phone to sync, please let me know if your Edge shows as connected in the app (make sure the Edge is powered on).

You may need to go into the menu (Android: three horizontal lines in the upper left, iPhone: three dots in lower right) and then select Garmin Devices to see if it is connected or not.

  • As the other poster above states, I see it over wifi, my normal method of sync. Frequently I'm only uploading a single ride when I get home. But if I've been away from home and done a few rides or been out of cell service, then I'll have multiple to upload once I get home.

I don't recall if I've seen the same issue when uploading over BT using the phone upload. I didn't have cell service on my latest camping trip.

edit: to clarify, I leave wifi off, auto-upload on. When I get home from a single ride I'll turn wifi on if the Garmin doesn't do it itself at the end of the ride (that seems to be a toss-up as to whether it does that or not). At the end of my recent trip I turned wifi on and had to click the sync option several times on the wifi screen to actually get them all uploaded. Same issue observed by my wife on her 530.
