Garmin edge 830 issue

Hello, I have a Garmin edge 830 with a battery that discharges very rapidly, sometimes within about an hour and 20 minutes. Is there a replacement battery for this? I've had it for numerous years so I don't know if there's a warranty service...

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

  • There are aftermarket batteries available.  Quality is questionable and Installation is a bit involved.  Garmin doesn't replace batteries, per se, but will sell you a refurbished unit in exchange for your current. one. IDK the price, but it's something like $125.

Unsolicited advice: A better title might have been, "Extremely short battery life!" which might prompt more of those with knowledge of that specific problem to click on it and respond.

  • I'd suggest contacting Garmin as they are generally pretty good with this sort of thing.  I've had my 830 since it came out (3 years?) and I've not really noticed a degradation in battery life (though the backlight does drain it).  My 810 noticeably degraded and when my kids use it only lasts a few hours.
