Garmin Edge 830 - Speed Sensor drop out and reconnect.

There are a good number of current threads on this already.  No one has come up with a solution as of yet, other than reverting to an earlier rev of the firmware.

Yes, and, OH MY GOD IS IT ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING! I've done the same, firmware update, new batteries, remove and re-add the sensor. Has been working fine for a couple of years until a few days ago.

While trying to solve the speed sensor issue I've noticed that my Garmin HR monitor is doing the same with the Edge 830, constant connect/disconnect.

Yea mine too. The hr connect and than disconnect. Very annoying! 

Ive had no issues with hr or power meter, just the blaaddy speed sensor. The sensor connects fine to my fenix 5 watch still... so its deffo an edge 830 issue!

I’ll try it again it start to happen when I turn off the device for a break. Maybe I’ve had to turn off and on again I haven’t tried… thanks!

For what it's worth, I spoke to phone support here in Australia but they could only suggest that the speed sensor was worn out. I've ordered a new sensor and I'll update whether it connects correctly to the 830. I hope so, the 830 was a lot more expensive than the sensor :-/

I tried today with no issue at all. It seems that when I try to turn off or suspend the ride after give the issue. Today I haven’t stop so everything was fine!

I have been in contact with Garmin support about this issue and apparently it is a thing they are working on. They had me do a ride with ANT+ logging activated and send in for their engineers to review. They are working on software changes, but have to find the root of the cause first. I was kind of told to sit tight. It is very frustrating, but hope they have a solution soon. 

I don't believe in miracles. As I reported such issues in Oct 2020 and it still hasn't been fixed. So don't hold your breath.
