Sensor drop outs with 9.30 are on another level

I was used to the Varia rear radar dropping out every 30 minutes or so. However after upgrading to 9.30 I‘m getting a sensor reset every few minutes. I nearly crashed while trying to get rid of a warning message on the 830 which was blocking a part of my course navigation. This is a new low for Garmin

I concur. I had a few rides with the beta version before 9.30 and with 9.30 itself when I thought they'd fixed the drop outs. But all rides since have had multiple drop outs per ride. Some with error codes.

I've given up any hope that it's fixable on the 830. Maybe future 840 owners will have better luck when they've reached firmware v5 and beyond.

The only way sensor drop-outs will "go away" is if they just stop displaying them. They must be pushing the poor little CPU harder than it can go.

I had to power up my trusty old edge 810 recently, and honestly, other than the giant bezel, it reminded me just how much I liked that unit and how the UI has actually gotten worse since.

The only advantages of the 830 over the 810 are battery life and ConnectIQ apps.

I downgraded to 9.10 just for the peace of mind. The 9.10 firmware is in the 9.29 beta file which is still available for download. It will erase some settings during the downgrade but all profiles, sensors got synced back automatically. Lost my training status but I don't care much about it anyway.

The sensor dropouts were introduced with 8.0. I have written on other sensor posts that going back to 7.10 has worked without any drops or missing useful features for me for maybe a year or so. If you do some searching you can find out how to downgrade and retain your settings. 7.10 is still available here. forums.garmin.com/.../new-edge-830-version-7-10-now-available

On my first two rides I thought they finally fixed sensors disconnect an reconnect drop outs. Sadly learning from my last two rides it's not. I'm done waiting and started the customer support process on this topic with Garmin.

How is this working for you with FW 9.10? 9.30 makes me crazy with my AXS sensors losing connection and reconnecting multiple times (like a lot of times) during each ride. I am not one to complain - I like the Edge 830 and the effort Garmin puts in to keep it up to date a lot - but this is very painful...

I have the same issue with heart rate broadcasting from my Fenix 6X. It is so frustrating! Please fix it ASAP Garmin!

There are still drop outs with 9.10 but it‘s not as bad. Still far from good though.
