Climbpro - load route but turn off navigation prompts

Hi.

I do a lot of Granfondos (or similar) events with lots of climbs. I like using Climbpro to help manage my effort on those climbs.

But when loading the route for Climbpro to work, I also get the navigation (turn-by-turn) prompts and those are annoying/distracting in that context.

Is there a way to have a route/course loaded (for Climbpro to work) but disable the navigation prompts?

Thanks in advance.

  • That would be awesome. All those prompts on serpentines are so annoying… +1

  • I'm the exact opposite to you. If find the ClimbPro prompts get in the way of Navigation prompts.

It would be great to have priority options though.

  • You can load a rounte and turn off TBT navigation:

Menu > Navigation > Courses > Course Options > Turn Guidance

However, there is no choice that TBT navigation is off during ClimbPro, while it's on during map screen.

  • So what happens if your not familiar with a route or course etc and your climbing a steep hill and the road forks, how do you know which of the forks to take if you do not have navigation prompts? It would be more annoying to miss a turn whilst climbing a steep hill and go off route and then have to backtrack or on reaching a fork, have to go to the navigation page to see which way to go and then that would be distracting.

What is so hard to clear the screen to get back to Climbpro, it just takes a second or two, or even use a Garmin remote on the bars next to where your thumb is and one or more presses of a button, problem resolved.

This is not an issue. I have just done two very hilly events over the weekend and the "turn by turn" prompts never even bothered me and in the amount of time it takes to clear them, nothing much is going to change on climbpro that you did not know before the prompt unless you was not paying attention in the first place. You suddenly are not going to go from a green section to a dark red section in a second or two which somehow, unexepectantly just popped up from knowhere in the short amount of time a "turn by turn" pop up appears.
