Garmin Edge 530 - P2max Power metre connected but can't calibrate and does not work when riding.

I tried Garmin 5 years ago and the software and user experience was so bad I moved to Wahoo but decided to try a Garmin again for the Trailforks integration on my mountain bike.

I have a power2max crank power meter which is set on Ant+ as is the Garmin, software is updated and it still works on my Wahoo.

I have PowerTap power pedals on my road bike and tested that the power would calibrate and work on the Edge and it did.

The Power2max does connect but will not calibrate and will not show or work on nhe display! This type of thing makes me want to sell the garmin and stay clear of it.

Any ideas anyone?

  • I have 4pcs P2M NGs (prior i had 4pcs TypeSs) and all work flawlessly with Garmin 830, 820, 1000, F3 and i never had problem with them... Are You sure that You connect the P2M via ANT+ to the 530? (and not via BT?) Can You do a short video (YT) what do You do step by step and how does it look like?

Yes it is definately on ANT+ on both Garmin and P2Max App, I switch Ant+ on and off on the App and it still didnt calibrate. I tried to link a clip but it doesnt let you on the forum unless it is a URL.
