Segment timer

Hi, I switched from the 530 to an 830 a while ago, and I’m mostly happy with the upgrade, except for one thing; The strava live segment display which I find much less useful compared to the 530. I have looked everywhere, but can’t find any way to add a segment timer? I see my PR time or other target time at the very top, but there is no way I can tell how much time I have used on the segment this far. I can add the “time ahead” field which of course is useful, but I really want to know what my time is without having to do any arithmetics.

I hope that there is something I have missed here, and this functionality is available, but if not, is there any feedback page somewhere where one can request new features in the software? This should be really simple to add, I can’t be the only person missing this feature?

  • Heh, appears that I must remember this all wrong. I just checked on my old 520 (not 530 as I wrote initially) and it appears that I didn't have a segment timer there either? It's only time ahead and distance left Slight smile

Anyway, I still think it would be a nice feature and should be easy to implement.

  • Agree, that was the first thing that i wanted to add when i tried segments for the first time.

  • Several times I've made suggestions about a number of new fields for segments that would be useful, but none of them have ever been implemented. I just use the lap button at segment start to track time and average speed.

If you look at the Connect IQ SDK and the news releases, it seems that Garmin is much more focused on their watch business than cycling, so they probably barely have developers working on our devices.
