New Edge 830 Public Beta 9.24 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 830 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found in the link below.

Notes:

Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 9.22 to 9.24:

Fixed automatic maximum heart rate detection.
Added the ability to perform the FTP test with power data coming from a trainer.

Changes made from version 9.20 to 9.22:

Changed gear battery data field to display percentage remaining if available, which affects Shimano Di2 single-battery systems.
Updated sensor low battery prompts to differentiate between low and critical status.
Fixed issue where distance could stop accumulating.
Fixed issue where text message sender names would display incorrectly.

i have tried to install this beta but now im on boot loop
now way to start
what can i do?

any solutions for me?

I can start in mass storage mode on pc but what is now todo?

Garmin are waiting for the next Ice Age to fix that issue.

ozboss_ : In the Beta Zip File is the last stable version 9.10 too. Copy the stalbe version to the Edge Garmin folder. Maybe when you start your Edge it try to install the 9.10 version. The problem is, when you go back to an older version all your settings are lost.

Do you renamed the GUPDATE_910.GCD file to GUPDATE.GCD in the Garmin folder? According to the instalation instruction you have to do that.

Yes, I took all that into account. It still hangs in the loop - let's see what Garmin says, support has been contacted

HR Zones are still wrong!

I use HR-zones based on %LTH for biking and zones based on %maxHr for strength workouts. My bike workouts are still showing completely wrong zones that aren't based on my used HR or LTH values.
This strange behavior i had on version 9.22 an now on 9.24 too.

Agreed, was the same for me. My workaround after 9.24 update: edit zone in GCweb (just changed one value and reverted it, so that a "change" is recognized by GCweb and a sync is forced. After that zones on Edge are fine again. Had this for various updates in the past already.
