Edge 830 not syncing courses

Hi, I have just upgraded from a 520 to an 830, and now I have a problem with syncing routes. I'm using Strava routes which usually would sync nicely to my Edge 520 as long as I had them starred in Strava. However, with the 830 I get no routes (courses) in the Navigation menu. Everything else seems to sync OK (activities, settings IQ Apps, etc), but no courses.

I have with Wifi enabled and disabled. I some times get the error message that "the device seems to be busy", but usually the sync finishes OK. But stil no courses in the navgation menu.

Any ideas?

  • Have you tried plugging it into a computer running Garmin Express and syncing via that?

  • I think I have figured it out. It seems that since I have already synced these routes with my old 520, Garmin Connect considers them synced, and will not sync them again with a different device. If I add a new route to Strava however, it is synced as expected. I'll just upload the old routes manually and the rest should work OK.

  • Same here. Just upgraded to Edge 830 from Edge 520Plus. No way to sync routes from Garmin Connect / Strava. Tried unsuccessfully also via Garmin Express (cable on Mac). ON 520P synchronised just fine and rather annoying that with a brand new 830 I have to manually upload courses...

  • I had the same impression: a new route on strava syncs well with Edge830. Old ones, already sync with Edge 520P don't. However curious because I also have a forerunner which  syncs routes well, although already sync on Edge.... maybe because differentiate btw Edge and Forerunner (?).
