New rerouting options

A while back with the introduction of the Garmin Edge 1030, I remember there was a new rerouting option to choose from; pause routing, shortest way back and something else. This feature was supposed to trickle down to the 830, but I havent seen it yet. Did I miss it or what's going on?

  • There were new re routing options in the 1030 plus.  Garmin never said they would be ported to other units and they haven't been so far. While it would be really good if they were brought to the 830/530 I wouldn't hold out any hope that they will be.

  • I too remember it being promised as a trickle down feature.

But I expect they'll hold it back for the 840, and claim it's some miracle that's worth upgrading for.

They won't tell you, that it will take about 30 firmware updates to get it nearly working properly Wink

    Garmin 840/540 press release:

Hey look everyone at our new Edge 840, it's got:

    1. USB Type C charging.

    2. New re-routing options.

    3. Erm... did we tell you about the new charging method?

  • Other features that debuted with the 1030+ were promised to be ported to the 830/530 but I never saw anywhere where Garmin said the new routing stuff would be one of those.
