Hey all, this behavior is for my Edge 830 and Elite Suito. I have noticed it is restricted to the Garmin 830 head unit. Within Zwift, my forerunner 745, and elite’s official smartphone app this problem does not occur.
When setting a target power on my head unit, the power is exactly as expected while pedaling below 85rpm. As soon as I start pedaling above 85rpm, the power scales back. This is not a temporary issue. I usually sustain 90 RPMs for the entire ride, but the head unit will scale back power by around 20% and I must compensate by increasing target power to 20% above my true target to match. (No, it is not a problem with inconsistent cadence)
Does the Garmin edge 830 have a hidden setting for cadence limits somewhere? From what I can tell I have narrowed it down to the edge unit and it isn’t a problem with other ANT-FEC or Bluetooth devices.
