Why wont my Garmin 830 cycle computer accept any 3rd party .gpx or any other route files

    Can you insert one of the files here? Maybe we can see what's going on. Depending on the file format, you might need to zip the file before attaching to your post.

    "Any"? Some sources certainly work. You really should provide an example of a file or a link to a source.

    Some sources don't produce files with quite correctly-formatted GPX files (the Garmins can be a bit picky).

    You might be able to get them to load by converting them to GPX.

    Here's one place to do that.

    Where did you put those files? They have to be put in the 'NewFiles' folder under 'Garmin' when the Edge is connected to your PC.

    Another option would be using a Android phone to open the GPX file and use Garmin Connect to do so. The GPX file then will be transferred and to your Edge.

    Internally Garmin is using the 'fit' file format and will convert GPX files automatically when transferred via Connect App or put in the 'NewFiles' folder.
