After 1 year complaining Garmin Support Netherlands agreed in July 2021 that the autozoom function of the 830 does not work correctly! After a turn, the zoom continues to stay at the narrow level of 80 m instead of going back to the broader level before the turn (e.g. 200 m or higher).
Contrary to earlier statements of the global Garmin organisation that the current zoom function is "by design", Garmin Support Netherlands agreed that this is not true and consequently the autozoom function contains a bug!
However this does not mean that Garmin will automatically repair this bug. I have understood that bugs will only be fixed by Garmin if a substantial number of users complain about a specific bug.
Therefore I recommend all Garmin users experiencing problems with autozoom to (re) submit this bug to the Garmin support organisation. Hope this will help.
