if my battery dies when on a ride do I loose all my data for that ride if I was recording ?

I wanted to know what happens to my data when on a ride and my battery dies? I was recording a bike ride just about done battery died and looks like no data from the ride as well ?

    FWIW: I had a dead battery once with my 800, but after recharging I could quite easily save/recover the ride I was riding. Most likely samewise for 830, but a dead battery with an 830 would be hard to achieve.
